Mitigating Urban Air Pollution

Summary

I applied to take this summer graduate-level class to explore my interest in climate risk and the impact on human infrastructure, and it was my first experience with climate solutions and envisioning ways to adapt to and mitigate climate change. The focus of the course was on the coupling of human and natural systems and the intersection between biodiversity, social equity, and climate change. I learned about nature-based solutions, scenario definitions, and was introduced to agent-based modeling. For the final course assignment, I worked with a partner to investigate the drivers and impacts of urban air pollution as well as defining possible future scenarios based on the action taken to adapt to and mitigate it.
