NASA Atmospheric Composition Ground Networks Supporting Air Quality and Climate Applications
NASA Applied Remote Sensing Training (ARSET) Program | August 2024
This training program covered several NASA atmospheric composition ground networks that provide data relevant to aerosol and trace gas column concentrations and vertical structure, including both active and passive techniques for ground-based remote sensing.
Creating Meteorological Products from Satellite Data
University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) COMET MetEd | August 2024
Learned about how satellite data are turned into meteorological products by using image manipulation techniques to highlight properties of interest, cloud mask products, and more complex processes to create quantitative products, as well as advanced processes involved in the generation of products derived from hyperspectral instrument data.
Instrumentation and Measurement of Atmospheric Parameters
UCAR COMET MetEd | Sep. 2023 - Apr. 2024
Course covered the siting, performance characteristics, calibration, and use of meteorological instruments to measure common atmospheric variables, as well as the different kinds of instruments used for each, their pros and cons, and appropriate use cases. The lessons for the course:
- Foundations of Meteorological Instrumentation and Measurement
- Meteorological Instrument Performance Characteristics
- Instrumentation and Measurement of Atmospheric Temperature
- Instrumentation and Measurement of Atmospheric Pressure
- Instrumentation and Measurement of Atmospheric Humidity
- Instrumentation and Measurement of Wind
- Instrumentation and Measurement of Atmospheric Trace Gases

- Instrumentation and Measurement of Atmospheric Radiation
- Instrumentation and Measurement of Surface Precipitation
NASA GLOBE Cloud Challenge
NASA | March 2022
Classified cloud observation data for cloud type investigations and machine learning. Datasets available at https://observer.globe.gov/get-data/clouds-data#cloudgaze.
Weather and Climate Science
A Participant Guide of the UN Climate Change Process
United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) | August 2024
Learned about the UNFCCC, Kyoto Protocol, and Paris Agreement, and their legal basis, structure, rules, and workings, including the functions of the governing and subsidiary bodies.
Cities and Climate Change
UNITAR | August 2024
Learned about the effects of climate change on cities, the contribution of cities to climate change, climate change adaptation and mitigation solutions, and major initiatives in practice.
NWP [Numerical Weather Prediction] Essentials: Data Assimilation
UCAR COMET MetEd | August 2024
Lesson covered data assimilation for NWP models, starting with the methodologies behind using NWP as the background field to understanding shortcomings in predictions, how model increments produce the analysis, and how 3D-VAR and 4D-VAR handle background error covariances.
MJO [Madden-Julian Oscillation], Equatorial Waves, and Tropical Cyclogenesis
UCAR COMET MetEd | August 2024
This lesson covered the role of the MJO and equatorial waves in tropical cyclogenesis and how to use conceptual models and geostationary satellite images to identify and monitor these circulations, then use that information to forecast tropical cyclogenesis.
SKYWARN Spotter Training
UCAR COMET MetEd | November 2022
This course went over the role of the SKYWARN spotter in NWS and local emergency weather management and the national criteria for reportable convective weather events.
Data Science and Analysis
Azure Data Science Associate
Microsoft | June 2024 (expires June 2025)
Completed the Azure Machine Learning track during the Microsoft AI challenge to be eligible for a free Microsoft certification exam (link: DP-100). The proctored certification exam covered exploring data, designing a machine learning solution, and training and deploying machine learning models using Azure Machine Learning products.

Retail Product Analysis Dashboard
This dashboard shows the sales of a retailer by product category, orders over time, and investigates the relationship between price and quantity sold, and sales by location and time.
Wine Company Sales Analysis
Analyzed the data of a company selling wine in Australia to understand profitability by product, location, and year.
Fashion Startup Manager Performance
Created a dashboard of individual district manager performance measured by number of sales compared to sales goal by month and product.
Seattle Vehicle Collisions Analysis
One of the major complaints people have about Seattle is the traffic. This analysis shows where and when most vehicle collisions occur in Seattle and breaks them down by cause and type of collision.
Hospital Finder Dashboard
Analyzed hospitals by discharges, average bill cost, and patient cost coverage to create a dashboard that allows users to find hospitals across the United States by financial information. Data is from 2011 to 2015.
Country COVID Status Visualizer
Used a dataset from Kaggle to build a report showing COVID cases by country categorized by active cases, recovered cases, and deaths.
